Kudos to Continental

Continental was awarded the contract for a new prototypical Kohl’s Department Store in Casper, Wyoming. This store is a 55,000 SF facility with the standard back stock room areas, sales floor and four of the new automated carousel racking systems called “Garment Masters.”

This contract was with ESI Construction, a new customer to Continental. Being a first time client and a new and untested design for the store, we were faced with a number of areas that could present challenges for us. We were hit with all the issues we anticipated plus a few more. Not the least of which was the little issue of the prefabricated “Garment Masters” being taller than the building would allow, requiring some serious adjustments.

A number of field adjustments were required and Jim Campbell and Jason Biorn took them in stride. They performed above and beyond expectations and in the areas where changes were required, they did an outstanding job of communicating with the Contractor. Each and every change request on this project was acknowledged and approved due to the outstanding communication between Jim, Jason and the Contractor. Job well done! After we had our inspections with the Casper Fire Authority, Sean Saunders received an email from the project superintendent praising the efforts of Jim, Jason and Continental.

“I also want to let you know this has been the first time ever in all my years of being a superintendent, that I did not have to babysit, push along, or worry about whether the fire sprinkler contractor was going to make our schedule.

My hat’s off to your foreman Jim he has met and or beat our deadlines every time throughout this project not to mention not even one leak during the hydro static testing. Jim has even impressed Fire Marshal Dave Harley which he claimed in all his years he has never had every inspection throughout the phases of the project pass the first time until this one…It would be a pleasure working with Jim on my future projects and recommend using Continental for all my projects!!”

"Steve, off subject but being in the position we are its hard to take time out to give credit where credit is due.. our days mainly consist of things going wrong and handing out butt chewings daily...

(I) wanted to take time to say thank you for all your hard work.. Will is incredible and I would take him on my job any day of the week.

I like to tease Will when I can give him an A- on his punch list.. he always make 100 perfect score."
